The Colorado Springs Gazette reported 37-year-old Lucas Hinch was ticketed April 20th for firing a weapon within city limits. But no murder charges are pending for the fatal shooting, because the deceased victim was his Dell desktop PC. The police report said Hinch “was fed up with fighting his computer for the last several months” and shot it in the alley behind his home just before 7 p.m., “effectively disabling it.” Continue reading →
It’s all about drones these days, what with Amazon gearing up for Prime Air delivery and RC enthusiasts video piloting their latest ‘copters in the park. Have you ever dreamed of flying like an eagle with a bird’s-eye view of the neighborhood? You can zip between trees at up to 100 miles an hour, maybe peer over that high wall you’ve always wondered about. The headset lets you look around in any direction – you can even see yourself down below on the ground, a real-time out-of-body experience. You don’t have to be a member of the Royal Netherlands Air Force to enjoy aerial acrobatics like these – the new generation of super-light and durable RC aircraft are incredibly agile and maneuverable. New quadcopters like the Blade Nano QX FPV 4CH 2.4GHz RC Drone give you the totally immersive cockpit experience of on-board piloting. This isn’t virtual reality. In a world where crushed M&Ms become whole and people walk backwards gracefully, Billy Mays is known by millions as Syam Yllib, He Who Balks Tackwards. This is the YouTube world of Alex Connery, who has given us a gift of hundreds of commercials and clips that are reversed to run backwards. Exactly why he’s created these turned-around videos is a mystery, but he’s obviously taken a lot of time and care to create this huge collection, so why not enjoy some?
Billy Mays Impact Gel in reverse is replete with shots of people moon-walking backwards. You’ll be struck by how much Billy’s voice sounds like a Swedish pitchman. Or should we say ″Pitch människa″? If you don’t recall what it sounded like originally, you can check it out on our Top 20 Billy Mays Commercials page. Continue reading →
I’m a compulsive reader of the comments at the bottom of the page. Some people can’t look away from a bad wreck, and I can’t help scrolling down to see what the trolls and shills have to say (in the spirit of full disclosure, I admit that I read the juiciest ones aloud in the voice of Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons: “Worst. Comment. Evar.”). With that admission out of the way, I can tell you that a post on Time Life’s Soul of the 70s 10 CD Box Set page set me to thinking.
The best security software is made in America, according to PC Matic. “Where in the world is your security software developed?” asks PC Matic CEO Rob Cheng in the PC Matic ‘Foreigner’ TV commercial. And that’s a question I hadn’t thought to ask myself over the years – but now that the question is raised, do I want to trust my computer’s security to a foreign company with potentially questionable loyalties? What do baking and grilling have in common? Yes, both produce delicious food, but both also make for a major messy cleanup. How many times have you scraped at your grill grate with a greasy wire brush and given up before it was clean? How many cake pans have you left soaking overnight because it was impossible to get burnt batter out of the corners? Are you ashamed to have anyone see your favorite baking sheets because of their dark, burnt, crusty stains?
Yoshi Grill Mats are just as perfect for grilling, camping, tailgating and picnics as the Miracle Grill Mat, but now you can enjoy the same 100% non-stick, easy-to-clean surface while you bake with the Yoshi Bake Non-Stick Mat. Just like Miracle Grill Mats, Yoshi Grill & Bake Non-Stick Mats can withstand heat up to 500 degrees and have safe, PFOA-free non-stick surfaces. Best of all, they can be put in the dishwasher or just rinsed off with soap and water – try doing that with your big, heavy grill grate. You can buy Miracle Grill Mats on Amazon, but only Yoshi Grill & Bake Non-Stick Mats have the Grip N’ Flip Spatula as a special bonus. Continue reading →
The final episode of True Detective has aired, but the Internet is still asking: Who is the Yellow King? Errol Childress doesn’t seem powerful or evil enough to lead a cult that ritually murders women and children in the secret place called Carcosa. At most, he’s the last withered remnant of a clan that mixed voodoo, Santeria and witchcraft into a fearful Lovecraftian brew. So if Errol is not the Yellow King, who is? I think I know and soon you will too. Continue reading →
George Jones may have passed away this year, but he left behind a legacy of unparalleled country music performances.
