New Product Tuesday with Jyze Pro
February 23, 2010 – 11:52 am by Savvy Shopper
So which came first? The Spin Gym or the Jyze Pro? You might remember Forbes Riley, infomercial personality and inventor of the Spin Gym, from her appearance last year on Discovery Channel’s Pitchmen with Billy Mays. We’ve just been made aware of the Jyze Pro, a similar resistance exercise product. The mechanism of the Spin Gym is made of metal, while the Jyze Pro is mainly plastic. The Spin Gym offers only one level of resistance, while Jyze Pro has interchangeable bands for multiple resistance levels. If you read through the comments on this blog post, you’ll see that there are ardent fans (or marketers posing as fans) of each product:

The JYZE (TM) Wind Up Fit! has revolutionized this niche in the market! I use it almost every day and love it!
The JYZE was invented long before Spin Gym and outscores it in every category. Compare:
JYZE is configurable at a higher level; Spin Gym is not
JYZE has add-on resistance bands which allow for progressive resistance; Spin Gym has static resistance
Spin Gym achieves less than 20 pounds of resistance; JYZE goes from 3 to 70 pounds of resistance (with the Fitness Pack)Try it out today and feel the difference!

robbie — you are so wrong – jyze is big and clumsy — and it seems to me they’re trying to ride of SpinGym’s coat tales — I prefer the sleek sexiness and I don’t more resistance — as someone who has had my SpinGym for 3 months – I LOVE LOVE it and my arms look great — can’t believe the comments I am getting — thank you SpinGym and Forbes Riley!
So, can either of these products tone and tighten your bod, or is it all just marketing spin?

Dear Forbes,
How about the “WHIRL-A-SIZER” TM? It is remarkably similar and has been around for decades as evidenced by the photos on the box I have sitting in front of me right now. Real obvious advantage to me of the SpinGym is its compact size. I just worry about people overstressing their fingers if they only insert one in each of the rings.
Should I bring it with me to the Inventors Conference in Lexington tomorrow night? I am not trying to embarass you, just know you want to be accurate with what you say is all.
I am looking forward to your talk, and your reaction to our lovely region.
Thanks,
Charles
