I’m really not happy about the way information was presented in the statement issued by Dr. Leszek Chrostowski, the associate medical examiner in Hillsborough County, Florida who conducted the autopsy of Billy Mays. Without any information regarding how often or how much Billy Mays used cocaine, and even though there was none in his system when he died, cocaine was listed as a contributing factor in his death. Dr. Chrostowski, this is a man’s reputation you are playing around with. It’s not your “teachable moment” about the perils of recreational drug use. I refer you all to the official family statement.
According to tampbay.com, Billy Mays’ family and the marketers who used his services have mutually decided that his commercials, including some shot before his untimely death that have not yet run, will still appear on TV. The mutual decision of everyone involved is that it is what Billy would have wanted. Read the whole story here.

This report from Fox News contains what may be Billy Mays’ final appearance in front of the camera, as he picks up his luggage in the airport terminal after the rough landing of his US Airways flight at Tampa International Airport. No use speculating until the coroner issues a report, but it looks likely the head injury Billy sustained during landing may have been a factor in his untimely death.
Here’s a report that ran a few minutes ago on CNN. I hadn’t previously heard about the piece of luggage hitting Billy in the head. I’m still in shock. So sad to read the tweets of Billy’s son. “My dad didn’t wake up this morning.”
I’m very sad to report that Billy Mays was found dead at his home this morning at 7:45 a.m. The cause of death has not been determined, but foul play is not suspected. Rest in peace, Billy. You were one of a kind, and we will miss your energy and enthusiasm.
In this video from TMZ.com, Vince Offer Shlomi declares, “No more hookers. I gave up.” The filmmaker and purveyor of ShamWow and Slap Chop was involved in a little, how should i put it, “scuffle” a few months back. You probably never heard about it. The heckler in the video is annoying and unfunny and he makes Vince seem sedate.
