This report from Fox News contains what may be Billy Mays’ final appearance in front of the camera, as he picks up his luggage in the airport terminal after the rough landing of his US Airways flight at Tampa International Airport. No use speculating until the coroner issues a report, but it looks likely the head injury Billy sustained during landing may have been a factor in his untimely death.
Here’s a report that ran a few minutes ago on CNN. I hadn’t previously heard about the piece of luggage hitting Billy in the head. I’m still in shock. So sad to read the tweets of Billy’s son. “My dad didn’t wake up this morning.”
I’m very sad to report that Billy Mays was found dead at his home this morning at 7:45 a.m. The cause of death has not been determined, but foul play is not suspected. Rest in peace, Billy. You were one of a kind, and we will miss your energy and enthusiasm.

Your Savvy Shopper is getting very lame. It’s just hours before tonight’s episode of Pitchmen, and I’m just now adding last week’s show. It’s not the fault of Gadgetglanman7, who uploaded it days ago.
Pitchmen episode ten (originally aired on June 17, 2009) features three generations of Billy Mays. Billy’s son Billy shoots his first TV spot starring his dad, and it really comes out well. But I’m sorry, Billy Mays the Eldest. The “Turn Don’t Burn” is a pretty lame idea for a product. Especially liked the hardware store stick-on letters.
When an As Seen On TV product is wildly successful, DRTV marketers are anxious to introduce a related product that will generate another large pile of consumer cash. The Buxton Bag was a huge hit and kept on selling for months and months. Will the new Buxton Cell Phone Wallet achieve similar success? Time will tell.
